I-Flow Corp. said Thursday it has settled a patent infringement and trade secret lawsuit against Apex Medical Technologies Inc. and Zone Medical LLC.

I-flow, a subsidiary of Kimberly-Clark Corp., said Apex and Zone Medical will stop making and selling the Solace pump and surrender pump-related tooling to I-Flow. The companies also will pay compensation to I-Flow, which was not disclosed in an I-Flow statement.

Under terms of the deal, Apex and Zone Medical will get to sell up to 3,000 pumps in their remaining product inventory through Aug. 13 in the U.S. and until Nov. 11 in international markets.

I-Flow said patent litigation against the two companies will be dropped.

I-Flow makes drug delivery systems and other products to help with post-surgical pain relief.

Messages left seeking comment from officials at Apex and Zone Medical, both based in San Diego, weren't immediately returned.
