3M Co. and Vosschemie GmbH said Friday they have settled a patent infringement lawsuit that 3M filed last November.

The case involves a patent 3M owns concerning its Paint Preparation Systems products. 3M manufactures and sells a disposable cup paint mixing system under its PPS brand.

Vosschemie is the German distributor of the GPS disposable paint cup system manufactured by U.S.-based Louis M. Gerson Co.

The companies said in a joint news release that Vosschemie "acknowledged the validity and enforceability of 3M's patent relating to its PPS brand product on a worldwide basis."

Vosschemie also agreed to immediately stop selling the Gerson GPS disposable paint cup system, the companies said.

Specific terms of the settlement are confidential.
