MTuitive brings OpNote tech to UMass Medical
Centerville-based mTuitive Inc., a developer of clinical decision support applications, has a new customer in UMass Memorial Medical Center’s Division of Neurosurgery, which plans to use the company’s OpNote technology, just out of beta testing last week, to track surgical findings.
Designed to replace the paper and dictation process surgeons use to report details of operations, OpNote is a web-based software program that can be used on tablets and touch screen devices, with an interface available for electronic medical records. The software structures the notes into a format that may be used in database format.
Dr. Jared Ament is leading the implementation of OpNote at UMass Memorial Health Care. He noted in a press release, “There is an amazing amount of information contained in surgical reports, almost all of which is unusable for research because it is not structured for use in a database.”
MTuitivewas founded in 2003.
