Former Colo. medical company officials indicted
Three former executives of a Colorado Springs medical equipment company and a consultant are named in a federal indictment claiming that they imported medical devices that weren't cleared for use by the federal government.
The U.S. attorney's office in Denver said Monday that the former Spectranetics Corp. officials have been indicted on charges of conspiracy, making false statements and importing adulterated and misbranded medical devices from 2004 through October 2008.
Authorities say 62-year-old George John Schulte of Wellesley, Mass., the former chief executive, was arrested Monday. Former executives 50-year-old Obinna Adhigije of Encinitas, Calif., and 37-year-old Trung Pham of Colorado Springs are expected to turn themselves in Wednesday.
A consultant who was indicted is out of the country.
