TheStreet.com names Thomas Etergino finance chief
Online financial media publisher TheStreet.com Inc. said Wednesday it has hired Thomas J. Etergino as its chief financial officer starting Sept. 7.
Etergino, 43, was most recently chief financial officer and chief operating officer at privately held eMusic.com, an online music subscription service. Etergino steps into a position that has been vacant since May 2009.
He was CFO of LSSi Corp., a privately held data services provider, and of AtriCure Inc., a medical devices company that went public during his tenure.
Previously, Etergino served as a senior financial officer at the online digital advertising company DoubleClick Inc.
"His track record for helping companies succeed at building revenue-growth businesses, while increasing profitability, and pursuing smart acquisitions is an excellent match for TheStreet as we pursue our own growth strategy," said TheStreet.com CEO Daryl Otte in a statement.
Shares rose 17 cents to $3.21 in aftermarket trading, having closed earlier down 5 cents at $3.04.
