Rural/Metro to buy Pridemark Paramedic Services

Rural/Metro Corp. will buy Pridemark Paramedic Services in order to expand its services in Colorado. Terms were not disclosed.

Rural/Metro, an ambulance and private fire protection services provider, said late Tuesday that the deal will likely add $12 million in new ambulance revenue.

Pridemark provides 24-hour advanced life support and basic life support ambulance services under 911 contracts in Boulder, Arvada, Edgewater, Fairmount and Wheat Ridge, Colo. It also provides non-emergency ambulance services to healthcare facilities throughout the metropolitan Denver area and Boulder County.

The acquisition is expected to close in 30 days.

Shares of Rural/Metro fell 12 cents to $8.56 in midday trading Wednesday.
