French drug giant Sanofi-aventis has entered into a collaboration deal with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Belfer Institute of Applied Cancer Science.
The agreement calls for Sanofi-aventis, which has a Cambridge research and development facility, to give the Belfer Institute $33 million, in the form of an upfront payment and research funding payments for at least three years; in exchange, Sanofi-aventis will have exclusive access to certain cancer-related components in the laboratory of Belfer Institute’s scientific director Lynda Chin, according to a news release from Dana-Farber.
