MoMelan Technologies, which raised $1 million in seed funding seven months ago, has made good use of that time and money. The Cambridge-based medical device company is hurtling towards commercialization of a device designed to stretch skin – improving the cost, time and patient experience of skin graft procedures.

The three-employee company is led by CEO Sameer Sabir, and MoMelan has an exclusive worldwide licence to the technology from Massachusetts General Hospital. The research comes from the lab of Dr. Rox Anderson, the company’s scientific founder, who is best known for inventing the first laser hair removal technology.
