Hill-Rom names new Chief Technology Officer
Hill-Rom Holdings Inc., maker of hospital beds and other medical technology, announced Monday that it has named Brian Lawrence senior vice president and chief technology officer.
Lawrence succeeds Abel Ang, who will take on a promoted role as regional president of Hill-Rom's Asia/Pacific division. Lawrence joins the company Monday, Dec. 6.
Lawrence was most recently CTO of GE Healthcare's life support solutions division and earlier served as president and CEO of Extend Optical Systems Corp. and as Molecular OptoElectronics Corp.'s CTO. At OptoElectronics, he also led research and development.
Hill-Rom chose Lawrence in part because it expects his experience as an engineer will help him improve Hill-Rom's research and development.
Lawrence's predecessor, Abel Ang, will become regional president for Asia and the Pacific for the company.
Shares of Hill-Rom closed at $39.85, down 8 cents.
