New England Biolabs Inc. (NEB) has signed a licensing and co-marketing deal with Sequenom Inc. to commercialize the EpiMark Methylated DNA Enrichment Kit.

The epigenetics product is created from intellectual property rights related to the University of Regensburg, Germany, and acquired by Sequenom. The EpiMark Methylated DNA Enrichment Kit’s analysis of methylated regions could be used in non-invasive prenatal diagnostics, the companies reported.
