Thermo Fisher buys plastic product maker Sterilin

Scientific instrument maker Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. said Wednesday it acquired Sterilin Ltd., a U.K. company that makes disposable plastic products.

The companies did not disclose terms of the deal. Thermo Fisher said Sterilin makes disposable plastic products used in sample collection, preservation, and processing. It had $35 million in revenue in 2010. The company is based in South Wales and has about 270 employees.

On Tuesday, Thermo Fisher closed its acquisition of laboratory equipment maker Dionex Corp. Thermo Fisher agreed to acquire Dionex in December for $2.1 billion, or $118.50 per share.
