Aetna and CVS will co-promote Medicare drug plan
Insurer Aetna and CVS Caremark Corp. said Monday they will offer a co-branded prescription drug benefit for seniors enrolled in the government's Medicare drug plan.
The plan will carry a $26 premium and offer "preferred" generic drugs for a $3 copayment and no deductible when enrollees fill their prescription at a CVS pharmacy or a pharmacy participating in Aetna's Medicare network, the companies said in a statement. Participants also will save $10 on copayments for brand-name drugs and non-preferred generics.
The plan is available in 43 states and Washington, D.C.
Plan participants will have access to 7,200 CVS pharmacies and more than 65,000 pharmacies in the Aetna network, the companies said.
Enrollment for Medicare plans begins Oct. 15 and continues through Dec. 7.
