FDA Deputy Director Arrested in Prostitution Sting
FDA Center for Devices & Radiological Health Deputy Director Dr. William Maisel is set for a hearing next month after his arrest during a prostitution sting operation in Maryland.
Deputy director Dr. William Maisel of the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health was arrested last month amid a prostitution sting operation in Maryland.
Maisel joined the FDA in 2010, prior to which he held prominent positions at Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and taught at Harvard Medical School.
Maisel is facing 4 charges of soliciting prostitution and one charge of disorderly conduct after he allegedly approached a plain-clothes female police officer and offered money for sex, according to the case report.
