Boston Microfluidics secures $100,000 new financing
It is a simple device that can be used by an untrained operator to process whole blood from a fingerstick. The sample can be collected anywhere in the world for immediate point-of-care testing or for ambient temperature transport to a lab. The intuitive user interface coupled with proprietary fluidic elements address sample processing needs while requiring no training and minimal intervention by the operator. Filtering, mixing, diluting, and preserving are performed automatically without a phlebotomist or lab technician.
This technology will bring reference lab testing to new locations and into new markets. BMF's self-contained disposable sample collection system is designed for use in a wide variety of healthcare environments, making testing more accessible to patients. By eliminating the need for additional processing of a patient sample by equipment or a technician, a broader menu of tests become available in doctor's offices and eventually in the home.
