When EarlySense was formed in 2004, the plan was to create sensor-based monitoring systems to be used in the home. But after learning that its system could help reduce cost of care by 40 percent, and risk of mortality by 70 percent, its founders saw a different need for the technology - general care floors in hospitals and clinics.
