Minnesota medical device company Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) is closing the books on a years-old wage discrimination case, paying $290,000 to settle claims that it paid Hispanic workers less than white workers.

Filed by the U.S. Dept. of Labor, the lawsuit claimed that Medtronic shortchanged 78 Hispanic entry-level employees at a Danvers, Mass., facility. The alleged misconduct dated back to 2008 and continued for 5 years, according to a Labor Dept. statement.
