OneHealth Solutions Wins Most Innovative New Product Award from CONNECT in Mobile Apps Category
OneHealth® Solutions, Inc., today announced it has received the Most Innovative New Product (MIP) Award in the Mobile Apps category at the 2013 CONNECT MIP Awards ceremony on Dec. 6. In its 26 th year, the annual awards program continues its tradition of honoring San Diego’s leaders of innovation and groundbreaking new products launched in the last year.
OneHealth’s mobile app is an extension of its award-winning web-based behavior change platform that integrates secure social networking technology, clinical principles and OneHealth coaches to engage individuals in their health to measurably improve health outcomes for targeted patient populations.
CONNECT’s MIP Awards is an annual benchmark for predicting San Diego’s most successful new products. More than 700 executives, entrepreneurs and investors attended the awards ceremony to recognize cutting-edge local innovations. OneHealth was selected from more than 100 nominations through a rigorous judging process representing a broad range of companies across nine categories.

OneHealth’s mobile app successfully engages users. In recent studies, 80 percent of members have created user-generated content, such as wall posts, stories and empathic responses. More than 58% percent of members have logged in more than three times, and join an average of 3.8 communities, indicating an interest in managing co-occuring health conditions. Members who utilize the OneHealth mobile app also make 16.9% more connections to other members, creating a stronger social support network.
OneHealth's mobile app provides support for a wide range of communities including alcohol addiction, depression, heart health, cancer, stress reduction, diabetes, obesity, tobacco cessation and care-giver support, where members can connect with like-minded individuals and invite friends and family members to support them. The company recently launched a military veterans community to help veterans and their families facing reintegration issues and challenges.
Members can use the app to set health goals and commitments, give positive reinforcement to peers and access condition-specific tools, content, OneHealth coaches and healthcare experts. At the heart of the app is a patent-pending emoticon-based check-in, linked to real-time intervention for high-risk members who need instant support from their peer network. OneHealth also links to provider networks to allow for immediate referral to extend the benefits and reach of patient care.
A significant percentage of employer, health plan, and provider-based users have accessed OneHealth’s mobile app since its launch earlier this year, including Aetna, Boston Medical Center, Safeway, Magellan, Memorial Hermann Health System and Amerigroup.
