Jackson Lab cancer research gains $429K grant
A researcher at Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, has received a $429,933 to expand her work in studying microRNA therapies for lung cancer.
Research scientist Julie Wells received the two-year grant from the National Cancer Institute. She works in the lab of professor Carol Bult. Wells’ research is focused on pulmonary adenocarcinoma, which accounts for almost half of all lung tumors and has a high mortality rate.
