Teleflex Medical OEM Receives Patent for High-Strength, Coreless Force Fiber Suture
Teleflex Medical OEM, a global leader in custom sutures and performance fibers, has been issued a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a unique high-strength suture. U.S. Patent 8,088,146 addresses a suture that combines a proprietary coreless braid design with fibers of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). This technology is also applicable to UHMWPE material co-braided with colored fibers to create greater visibility and contrast during surgical procedures.
