The company claims that work subject to long delays and high costs typically associated with custom tooling can now be completed in days instead of months. The laser process is targeted for prototyping and other short-run applications where the cost of dies cannot be amortized over long product cycles. Potential applications include medical equipment, military and aerospace, industrial machinery, power transmission units, telecommunications, electronics and electrical products.
