PTFE, FEP, and PFA tubing is available in a choice of stylesstraight, thin wall, coiled, corrugated, convoluted, or overbraidedto address various demands. Often referred to as Teflon tubing, PTFE, FEP, and PFA fluoropolymer tubing is best known for its heat and chemical resistance and for its non-stick properties. The diversity of styles focuses on different application challenges. PTFE, FEP, and PFA tubing in straight lengths, which is typically a fairly rigid product, works well in applications such as fluid transfer and sampling. Thin wall PTFE tubing, offered in AWG (American Wire Gauge) and inch sizes, meets wire insulation and protective covering needs. For applications like robotics and dispensing systems, coiled FEP tubing called Coiltef is frequently used. Coiltef may be expanded and retracted repeatedly without adverse effect to the heat-set coil.
