Antimicrobial Permanently and Safely Protects Medical Devices, Healthcare Surfaces

The antimicrobial protects plastics and nonwoven fabrics from staining, pitting, deterioration, and odor caused by bacteria, mold, mildew, and fungi, without compromising end-product safety. Applications include catheters, wound dressings, surgical drapes, and human-contact surfaces in healthcare settings. The product is sold as a solid crystalline powder which has long been used for protecting textiles. Now, the material has been transformed to a dry crystalline powder that is thermally stable for use in extrusion and injection molding. The product contains no volatile organic compounds, heavy metals, arsenic, or polychlorinated phenols, and is FDA-listed and EPA approved as a modifier to medical devices.
