High Precision Positioning Stage for Long Travel

Steinmeyer, Inc. announced an exciting new
addition to its line of precision linear stages. Our model PMT320 offers a
repeatability of +/- 1 micron, excellent straightness run-out accuracy and
travel distances from 600 to 1500 mm. The stage has a 320 mm wide die cast base
profile and the 1000 mm stroke stage weighs 70 kg. The PMT320 series offers two drive options, a servo linear motor or DC rotary motor with precision ground ball screw. Position feedback is provided by a linear encoder. Depending on the drive chosen, maximum acceleration of 5 m/sec² (0.5G) and maximum speed of 500 mm/s can be achieved.
Linear guidance is provided by size 25 precision linear profile rails, which gives the PMT320 a load capacity of 500 kg. Flatness and straightness run-out is +/- 2 microns over any 100 mm travel. For harsh environments, an optional steel cover is available to protect the components.
This stage is ideal for applications in:
