Vacuum-Encapsulated Inverters

Endicott Research Group’s SE/SE2 and E200II Series inverters for CCFL-backlit LCDs are vacuum-encapsulated to provide maximum reliability and excellent resistance to shock, vibration and humidity. Widely used in medical diagnostic equipment and handheld instrumentation, they are the ideal solution for single-lamp or dual lamp applications where compact size, high efficiency, resistance to harsh environments and absolute reliability are critical. These inverters operate at high efficiencies, typically 80-85%, and are designed and tested using the actual LCD display assembly to ensure system compatibility. ERG’s customized magnetics are self-shielding to minimize EMI and RFI interference.

The encapsulation of the inverter enables designers to better package it with respect to the rest of the system – only the pins are exposed, so only the bottom of their printed circuit board is a “high voltage” consideration. This is especially useful for embedded designs.

The compact E200II can power one or two CCFLs with up to 8W of output power. The low profile SE/SE2 Series is only 0.420” (10.66 mm) high x 0.75” (19.1 mm) wide x 2.98” (75.7 mm) long. The SE provides up to 5 W of output power for single- CFFL backlights, and the SE2 is for two-lamp configurations.

Pricing for ERG’s vacuum-encapsulated DC-AC inverters starts at $8.98 in production quantities. Pricing for S Series inverters is $7.32 each in production quantities. Pricing for SE Series inverters is $9.80 each in production quantities. Contact ERG for details on pricing. Delivery is 4 weeks A.R.O.
