Lithium-Ion Advantages for Medical Products
This white paper looks at the options available to medical device manufacturers in Li-ion battery technologies. Li-ion is a unique chemistry, requiring a different design approach. The technology presents nuances outside the everyday experience of many engineers. The goal here is to alert portable medical equipment designers to the different design and use constraints of Li-ion batteries, while examining the chemistry tradeoffs between various battery choices and the need for direction in best-practice implementation (including the pitfalls) of designing with Li-ion.
