When you partner with SSF, you are working with molding experts who intimately understand the regulatory requirements necessary for validated production for medical applications. Our quality system is designed to ensure our on-going processes are controlled properly to maintain the integrity of those validations. All of our molding can be performed in an ISO 7 or 8 clean rooms coupled with the use of scientifically designed experiments, measurement studies and statistical analysis required for your medical device needs. Silicone materials are typically molded by the following methods: Liquid Injection Molding (LIM), Transfer Molding, Compression Molding. We’ll recommend the type of molding that best suits your needs.

Leadframe / Insert Molded Parts

January 21, 2013 5:10 pm | Accumold | Products

Handling, inserting or assembling micron-sized parts during manufacture can be an issue. Labor-intensive manual handling is expensive and can damage or contaminate parts. Robotics may not have small enough actuators. Accumold’s tooling and automation systems for lead frame molded parts and insert applications are second to none. Using Accumold's unique technology, we can mold plastic on and around different types of metal, plastic, fabric or other materials. Some of these processes produce completed parts while others are ready for further processing by the customer.

Micro-Mold®

January 21, 2013 5:02 pm | Accumold | Products

Micro-sized parts are produced in our own micro-molding machines, utilizing processes that we started our business with over 25 years ago. Our Micro-Molded parts range from about 1/2 inch in size to parts measured in microns. These components often have complex geometry and very tight tolerances. Accumold builds specialized molding machines for this unique capability. The machines are engineered to handle volumes from prototypes to 5,000,000 or more parts per year while maintaining consistent, precise tolerances that are unique in the industry.
