Thu, 08/11/2005 - 10:41am

First-aid dressings primarily protect a wound from external contamination and additionally absorb blood and wound fluids. These systems are specially designed to ensure any bacteria coming into contact with the gel or contained with the exudate are absorbed, contained, and killed. Eliminating the need for preservatives or antimicrobial agents such as silver, the gels provide a skin-friendly environment that is antimicrobial to a broad spectrum of species.
