FlowSim is a new team-based board simulator that can help manufacturing and fabrication teams work through process challenges. It was designed by the consultants of KDC & Associates to enable a company’s management team to analyze and improve any process that uses linked activities, said Dick Kallage, a principal of KDC, a consulting firm based in Barrington, Ill.

KDC incorporates FlowSim in presentations to corporate leaders on topics such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. The simulator, however, can be used in any organization’s training or team-interaction setting.“This easy-to-learn board simulator will have tremendous applicability to manufacturing and fabrication businesses,” Kallage said. “It will help team members to appreciate process flows—whether the analysis calls for modeling current processes, or proposed improvements. It is designed to model reality, and what can be. It is also highly useful for basic operator and supervisor training.” Information:
