The Combination Products Event for 2007

Wed, 10/11/2006 - 8:48am
Reed Life Sciences is excited to announce PharmaMedDevice—the only comprehensive forum that fully illuminates the convergence of the medical device, pharmaceutical, and biologic industries. The inaugural event will be co-located with Interphex, April 24-26, 2007, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Next-generation product manufacturers will converge at PharmaMedDevice to find answers to their regulatory challenges, create new partners, and source solutions for new product development.

This event is designed to be a dynamic platform for education, partnering, sourcing, and discovery of new products. It is the first of its kind to address the unique needs of the emerging combination products market and the exciting innovations taking place in drug delivery technology and healthcare.

PharmaMedDevice will showcase a range of state-of-the-art technologies from industry-leading medical device suppliers and service providers that will help to advance the commercialization of life-enhancing combination products, such as cardiovascular drug-eluting stents, novel orthopedic implants, and implantable insulin pumps. Exhibitor categories will range from contract services, automation systems, and components to drug delivery systems, coating and surface treatments, sterilization equipment, and testing and inspection services.

The PharmaMedDevice Conference program will provide life science companies with an in-depth roadmap for speeding new combination products—drugs, medical devices, and/or biologics, combined through physical or chemical means—to market and extend product lifecycles. In addition, the conference will address the exciting new technologies and topics that are revolutionizing the healthcare industry—including personalized medicine, nanotechnology, artificial organs, tissue engineering, and other novel treatment options. Designed to address a variety of issues facing life science companies involved in or considering similar product development, conference tracks will focus on: FDA regulatory issues, partnerships and collaboration, manufacturing, innovative technologies, and research and development.

PharmaMedDevice has partnered with FDC Reports’ The Gray Sheet, The Silver Sheet, and The Pink Sheet and Beacon, the not-for-profit Biomedical Engineering Alliance and Consortium, to co-produce a conference program that will address the needs of the emerging combination products market, biomedical engineering community, and the exciting innovations taking place in drug delivery technology and healthcare. The conference program will answer many of the questions that have been raised related to these unique next generation products.A careful selection process will ensure that only the most qualified speakers and pertinent topics are included in the conference program.

PharmaMedDevice will draw speakers from the FDA, companies that have achieved approval for combination products, and industry leaders specializing in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries to provide a balanced perspective and practical knowledge. The event will attract a broad range of life science professionals interested in combining technologies for novel product applications. It will provide scientists, academia, executives from R&D and business development, product managers, manufacturing engineers, QA/QC personnel, and regulatory specialists with opportunities to meet, network, and address the challenges of developing and bringing combination products to market.

We thank Medical Design Technology magazine for their support of the PharmaMedDevice event and look forward to welcoming the medical device industry to New York in April of 2007.
