The DECS 50/5 (digital EC controller sensorless) is a controller for driving brushless DC motors without Hall sensors. Typical sensorless drives such as pumps and fan applications can be created. The wide input voltage range of 10 to 50 V means that the DECS 50/5 is very flexible and adaptable. In continuous operation, an output current of 5A of the power stage is permissible, giving it a maximum output performance of 250 Wattswith it only being the size of a business card. The speed value can be set via an integrated potentiometer or an analog set value. The 1-Q amplifier can be operated at up to a maximum speed of 80 000 RPM.
