The occlusion sensor is a thin film force sensor used in ambulatory infusion pumps, insulin pumps, and enteral feeding pumps to measure occlusions (blockages) in silicone or PVC tubing. It is pressed against the outside of the tubing and detects an increase in force as down stream blockage causes pressure in the tube to increase. This sensor will not break when dropped. Additionally, it offers low power consumption (the sensor is a 10,000 ohm bridge giving 1 mV output per volt of input power).
