Rotary Encoder Designed for Extreme Electromagnetic Operating Environments

The TD5207 non-metallic fiber optic rotary encoder was specifically developed for motion control systems operating in extreme electromagnetic fields, especially for use in MRI imaging systems. Based on the ZapFree fiber optic rotary encoder technology, the all-optical TD5207 sensor is totally passive and links to an MR310 remote encoder interface module via a single fiber link, up to 1,000 meters away. The MR310 module offers both speed and position feedback via industry standard interfaces; including A/B quadrature signals, programmable analog outputs (both 4-20 mA and 0-10 V), and serial interface. The basic TD5207 offers 200 ppr resolution in a 3.0 square flange housing—other packages and performance options are available.
