IMU Combines Three Axes of Sensing

The ADIS16350 iSensor inertial measurement unit (IMU) combines three axes of angular rate sensing, three axes of acceleration sensing, and a temperature sensor to cost-effectively provide full six-degrees-of-freedom motion measurement in medical applications such as prosthetics, remote probes, and computer assisted surgery. An SPI interface allows for simple system interface and embedded programming. The SPI port provides access to the following calibrated embedded sensors: X, Y, and Z axis angular rate; X, Y, and Z axis linear acceleration; internal temperature; power supply; and an auxiliary analog input.
