Bal Seal to Demonstrate Tiny Electrical Contact at Event
Thu, 10/15/2009 - 6:37am
Bal Seal Engineering Inc. (Booth 344), a supplier of high-performance components for electronic devices used in cardiac, neurostimulation and sensing therapies, will be demonstrating its Bal Conn electrical contact at the show. Consisting of a small precision-engineered canted-coil spring retained in a metal housing, the Bal Conn facilitates a reliable, uniform electrical connection between the battery and lead in implantable electronic devices. The Bal Conn’s spring coils adjust independently to maintain maximum contact with the lead electrodes that are inserted into the device header. Its spring element can be customized to accommodate specific requirements for insertion/removal force and contact resistance, and its compact profile enables manufacturers to build in greater connector density for enhanced performance and reliability in the same limited space.
