Tue, 07/27/2010 - 7:08am
SICK, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sensors,
safety systems, machine vision, and automatic identification products for
factory and logistics automation, has launched its miniature line of bar code
scanners. Barely larger than a USB plug, they can easily be installed where
space is extremely limited. The CLV500 Series is also easy to configure via its
online tool and configuration bar codes. These mini bar code scanners boast
excellent decoding performance, with a large depth-of-field that allows for
flexibility in code size and target placement.
This ultra-compact series is ideal for applications in the OEM and machine builder marketplace, such as packaging systems, circuit board processing, robotic inspection, etc. Due to its high scanning frequency of 1,000 Hz, the CLV505 is suitable for conveyor speeds of up to 5 m/s, depending on the application. One of the smallest 1D barcode scanners available it fits in extremely small spaces. This series also offers fast and easy commissioning using an online tool; no new software is necessary.
