The significant line expansion is partly in response to the recent reluctance of their current polypropylene supplier to certify their resin with the USP Class VI designation. Rather than Value Plastics asking their customers to go through extensive measures and submit paperwork for this certification, the company has chosen to provide them with a quick and painless solution – switching resins.
Another major contributor to this change is the medical and biopharmaceutical industries' growing demand for animal-free resins due to the presence of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy or mad cow disease). In response to many companies considering animal-free polypropylene as their best alternative, Value Plastics has decided to offer their customers a choice in polypropylene resins.
Chuck Philipp, VP of Business Development at Value Plastics, comments, “Our desire is to provide our customers with multiple options so that each customer gets a product from Value Plastics that fulfills their needs. Offering an additional resin option seemed to be the appropriate response to the given situation.”
