Helix Medical, founded in 1984, is a global custom manufacturer for the medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, and IVD markets. Headquartered in Carpinteria, CA, Helix Medical operates an FDA-registered medical device facility, certified ISO 13485 with Class 7 & 8 cleanrooms. Additional medical manufacturing operations are located in California, Massachusetts, Germany, China and Ireland with VistaMed, a joint venture partner. A new facility in Costa Rica plans to begin production in the first quarter of 2012. Medical manufacturing capabilities include development, silicone molding (HCR, LSR), thermoplastic molding, silicone and thermoplastic extrusion, complex diagnostic and therapeutic catheters, assembly, packaging, and engineering services.
