Comco Inc. manufactures micro-abrasive blasters for use in medical parts manufacturing. Microblasting can be used to remove excess encapsulation material from a pacemaker. It is also used to peen the surface of pacemaker cans to remove scratches and create an aesthetic matte finish.

Microblasting is also an effective for processing stents, cannulae, guidewires, bone screws and surgical tools. Comco’s Applications Lab welcomes sample parts for testing to determine the most efficient method for both new and established applications. Engineers evaluate the parts tested using different abrasive media under various conditions to determine the best process.
