Walk-Away Tube and Vial Labeling
Computype, Inc., in partnership with Nautilus Systems, today announced the launch of the Flexible Tube and Vial Feeder (Flex TVF), an innovative new system for automatic downstream feeding of tubes and vials that helps increase efficiency. The first-of-its-kind system separates tubes or vials from a bulk hopper and feeds them into an automated labeling device, ensuring each piece exiting the system is feeding in the correct orientation.
The Flex TVF is designed with the user in mind. With only a simple changeover of one mechanical component and a few settings, the system easily adjusts to accommodate tubes and vials from 6mm to 14mm in diameter, and up to 96 mm long. It is compatible with automated machines, such as the Nautilus PR100i with Tube Pro Accessory, creating a complete tube and vial labeling system. The need for manual operation is eliminated with its high feed rate (up to 40 parts per minute) and use of a bulk storage hopper. The system also includes Flex TVF Whisper Drive technology, requiring no vibratory element and creating virtually no noise, especially compared to loud vibratory feeders.
“For years, the only option available for bulk tube and vial feeding was a vibratory bowl. But that technology is loud, cumbersome, and limiting in many ways,” said Joal McAlister, life sciences market manager at Computype. “The Flex TVF is easy to use and has the potential to greatly increase lab efficiency.”
