Master Bond EP42HT-2Med is a room temperature curable two component epoxy, adhesive, sealant, coating and casting material featuring high temperature resistance along with outstanding chemical resistance. It is widely used in the assembly of medical devices due to its capability of withstanding repeated sterilizations and its compliance with the testing requirements of USP Class VI plastics. EP42HT-2Med can also be used for potting and encapsulating up to 2-3 inches thick. It has excellent electrical insulation properties and is serviceable from -60°F up to 450°F. EP42HT-2Med is widely used in the medical industry for manufacturing and repairing endoscopes, surgical instruments, catheters and many other medical devices. Additionally, EP42HT-2Med is available in black as a USP Class VI system.
Master Bond EP3HTMed fully meets USP Class VI requirements and is formulated to cure at elevated temperatures. It has excellent resistance to radiation, ETO, autoclaving and chemical sterilants. EP3HTMed has a service operating temperature range of –60°F to +400°F, is 100% reactive and does not contain any diluents or solvents. Another benefit of this single component, no mix epoxy adhesive is its unlimited working life.
MasterSil 151Med is an optically clear, flexible, tough, high performance potting and encapsulation compound introduced by Master Bond. It exhibits superior electrical insulation properties and very low shrinkage upon cure. MasterSil 151 MED is resistant to vibration and shock and has a service operating temperature range of –65°F to +400°F. It meets USP Class VI requirements for medical applications.
Fast curing UV18Med is a new single component adhesive/sealant that meets USP Class VI specifications for medical applications. UV18Med offers durable, flexible bonds and superior resistance to water and chemicals. It has a Shore D hardness of 55-60 and an elongation of less than 35%. It adheres well to a wide range of substrates including metals, glass and most plastics. Shrinkage upon cure is substantially less than conventional UV cure systems.
Master Bond LED403Med requires no mixing and will cure rapidly, with the speed of cure dependent upon the intensity of the light, the thickness of the layer and the distance of the light source from the material being cured. LED403Med can cure in sections up to and beyond 1/8 inch thick upon exposure to the LED light. In thinner sections, full cures can be achieved in 15-30 seconds (sometimes less than that), while thicker sections require longer cure times. Environmentally friendly, this compound is solvent free.
