RapidFIRE: Researchers Develop an On-the-Fly 3D Bio Printer

Researchers at UOW in Australia have developed a "bio pen" that could allow surgeons to repair damaged bone tissue with customized implants during surgery.

The BioPen delivers live cells and growth factors, which accelerate the regeneration of bone and cartilage materials, much like more traditional biological 3D printers.
