As a manufacturer, the UDI rule allows us to take more than 30 years of experience in the development of marking and imaging technologies to satisfy a critical need in a new market.
In terms of assisting our customers in their efforts to become compliant, we now offer the MPX-90M impact printer, a direct part marking (DPM) device designed for companies involved in small batch and multi-variety production, as well as hospitals, sterilization centers, and other facilities that need to mark their existing tools.
The MPX-90M uses a diamond-tipped stylus to permanently mark hard metal surfaces, including steel and titanium, with barcodes as small as 1.0 mm2. It is ideally suited for marking the smallest surgical instruments and tools with the recommended GS1 2D DataMatrix barcodes, which hold large amounts of data in a relatively small space.
The MPX-90M includes software that quickly converts numerical data into 2D barcodes. Variable data printing automates the serialization process for unique serial numbers, production lot dates, and other data. The MPX-90M also imprints text, graphics, QR codes, logos, and even halftone photos with exceptional detail.
