Aerotel has announced that their new ECG devices, the HeartView P12/8i and the HeartView 12L, have won CE Mark approval.
In a mature market where the devices available to healthcare providers are already well equipped, manufacturers now face the task of developing high-end solutions that will increase productivity and efficiency, reducing cost to the provider, in order to win business.
Aerotel has approached this challenge in the HeartView 12L by providing high-resolution recording to rival that of the market leaders, while providing 12-lead ECG analysis which, although now becoming standard in mature markets, has previously been seen as advanced technology.
A growing area of interest to healthcare providers is remote cardiac monitoring, as this reduces the cost of the patient to the healthcare provider. By allowing home monitoring, in event monitors such as the HeartView P12/8i, the patient is not a burden on the hospital and staff, which ultimately increases the productivity of the physician. In addition, live data analysis allows more timely intervention and improves the quality of care. Therefore, remote cardiac monitoring is becoming increasingly important in a market where there are rising healthcare costs.
In these two devices, Aerotel has developed advanced technical features to address the needs in the diagnostic cardiology device market. In price sensitive markets that are increasingly moving towards home care, the approval of sale of these devices highlights the importance for manufacturers to find cost-effective, efficient solutions combat spiralling healthcare expenditure.
