Hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp. said Friday it named Ronald Rittenmeyer, former CEO of Electronic Data Systems Corp., to a vacancy on its board.
Rittenmeyer, 63, replaces Don Williams, who retired from Tenet in May.
Rittenmayer is the former chairman, president and CEO of EDS and has also been an executive at Safety-Kleen Inc., AmeriServe Food Distribution, RailTex Inc., Ryder TRS Inc., Burlington Northern Railroad, and other companies.
The U.S. Treasury Department appointed him to the board of the insurer American International Group Inc. in April. AIG, which is based in New York, is majority owned by the U.S. government following a $180 billion bailout, the largest government rescue in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
