Omnicare Inc., which dispenses drugs to nursing homes and long-term care facilities, said Wednesday it bought privately held Continuing Care Rx for an undisclosed amount.
Continuing Care, based in Harrisburg, Pa., provides pharmacy services to residents of long-term care and other facilities in Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It had $170 million in revenue during the 12-month period that ended June 30.
Shares of Omnicare rose 58 cents, or 3 percent, to $19.78 in afternoon trading. The stock has traded between $19.14 and $30.63 over the last 52 weeks.
