Medical products maker ArthroCare Corp. said Thursday it received Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Spartan Peek Suture Implant system.

The Austin, Texas, company said the system is indicated for use in fixing soft tissue to bone, and it will be used to reattach rotator cuff tendons.

ArthroCare shares climbed 20 cents to $27.54 in Thursday morning trading.
