Medical device and services distributor Henry Schein Inc. said Wednesday it acquired a 50 percent non-consolidating interest in the Turkish dental distribution business Guney Dis Deposu. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Melville, N.Y., company said the deal will be neutral to 2010 earnings per share and add slightly next year. Guney, which is based in Istanbul, had $24 million in sales over the past 12 months, most of which came from dental equipment and consumables.
Henry Schein said the remaining 50 percent stake in Guney will be held by Ferizan Peker, whose family founded the company in 1950.
