LCA-Vision Inc., which operates laser vision surgery centers, said Monday that 25 percent fewer Lasik procedures were performed in the third quarter.
The economic downturn has led to sharp declines in procedure volume while the company operates fewer vision centers. The company performed 11,497 procedures across 62 centers, down from 15,335 at 71 centers during the same period a year prior.
Lasik procedures at comparable stores, or stores open at least a year, fell 18 percent.
LCA-Vision said it will release third-quarter financial results on Oct. 26.
