Medical device maker Volcano Corp. said Monday it expects to report revenue of about $81 million for the fourth quarter, which would top Wall Street expectations.
The company said it gained more market share in the fourth quarter as use of its devices that help doctors see inside heart vessels and analyze blood flow increased. The company raised its outlook for full-year revenue to about $294 million from prior guidance of $286 million to $290 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect revenue of $77.1 million for the fourth quarter and $290.1 million for the full year, on average.
Shares of Volcano rose 91 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $28.63 in morning trading.
