Things got heated on a warm day in February at Merck Research Laboratories during the Q&A session at the end of this morning’s Mass High Tech BioForum – over whether the commonly accepted practices in the VC world made them predatory or just good business people.

Noubar Afeyan, co-founder of Flagship Ventures and a former serial entrepreneur himself, took umbrage to PureTech Ventures founder Daphne Zohar’s contention that certain VC practices that are ‘market’ standard inherently turn off entrepreneurs because they are designed to push them out of any real money win from an exit.
